TOPIC: Suratul Qadr

INTRODUCTION: 

The Abundant Portion (or) The Abundant Blessings. It is Makkan surah. Al-Qadr means: Fate, The Majesty, Destiny. The position of the is Juzʼ 30. Chapter 97.Surah Al Qadr consists of five (5) verses. The word QADR appear in the surah three (3) times.

   TRANSLITERATION OF SURATUL QADR

  1. Inna anzalnahu filaylatil-qadr

  2. Wama adraka ma laylatul-qadr. 

 3. Laylatul-Qadr Khairun min alfi shahr. 

 4. Tanazzalul-malaikatu war-ruh ufiha bin idhni rabbihim min kulli amr. 

 5. Salamum hiya hatta matla'il fajr.

 TRANSLATION OF SURATUL QADR 

 In the name of Allah the most Beneficent, the most Merciful

  1. Verily! We have sent it (this Qur'an) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree)

 2. And what will make you know what the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is? 

 3. The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allah in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, i.e. 83 years and 4 months). 

 4. Therein descend the angels and the Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] by Allah's Permission with all Decrees, 

 5. Peace! (All that night, there is Peace and Goodness from Allah to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn.

 COMMENTARY OF SURATUL QADR

 This surah refers to the revelation of the Holy Quran on the night of Qadr (Laylatul Qadr), continuing with explaining the importance of the night of Qadr and it's superiority than a thousand months and concludes with peace and blessings of Allah (S.W.T) on that night. Laylat al-Qadr variously rendered in English as the

[1] Night of Decree,

 [2] Night of Power, 

[3] Night of Value, Night of Destiny, 

[4] Night of Measure. It is the night when the Quran was first sent down from Heaven to the world and also the night when the first verses of the Quran were revealed to the Holy prophet Muhammad SAW. The night is better than a thousand months of worshipping. The exact date is uncertain but it was one of the odd-numbered nights of the last ten days of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. However the last ten nights of Ramadan as being especially blessed.The Night of Qadr comes with blessings and mercy of Allah in abundance, sins are forgiven, supplications are accepted, and that the annual decree is revealed to the angels who carry it out according to Allah's grace.
